SALEM Activity Breaks was founded in 2023 and forms a brand under TAO Adventure Therapies Ltd.

Our mission is to provide high quality activity breaks and therapeutic support placements for young people of all ages, creating a caring and engaging programme tailored with each young person in mind. We have a wealth of experience in looking after young people from all over the country. We aim to change the way young people are supported through access to the outdoors, and to encourage them to make use of the services accessible to them for personal growth and create a transition into the adulthood for care leavers. SALEM Activity Breaks makes crisis intervention and respite services straightforward and accessible for all local authorities/care providers to refer and place young people with complex additional needs.

SALEM Activity breaks promote therapeutic approaches using PACE, low arousal techniques, and employ a least restrictive practice. We aim to create a stable and calming place for young  people to enjoy their time with us and reset, while encouraging them to move out of their comfort zones, challenge themselves while developing skills for future independence. Our focus is to aid our young people to be ready to transition back into the routine of daily life in a more constructive and positive way, whether that be back to their home, further education or even the workplace (for the care leavers).

CRISIS INTERVENTION

SALEM Activity Breaks, offers services within Crisis Intervention. Designed primarily to support local authorities who are under pressure to find placements for young people who require an immediate and short-term emergency placement, the service provides an array of activities which strives to push young people out of their comfort zones, but also create positive memories for their short time with us.

It is a key aim for us, to be able to help young people thrive at learning their independance and life skills, to expand their life choices.
